Hearne adds one more to 2008 recruiting class

STEPHENVILLE ? TexAnns head basketball coach Ronnie Hearne announced the signing of Megan Norvil to a national letter-of-intent.

“Megan is a young lady I've had in my camps at both Cisco Junior College and Tarleton. She's someone who will work extremely hard and add depth to our post positions.”

Norvil, a 6-1 forward from Sidney, transfers to Tarleton after playing one season at Cisco Junior College.

As a freshman at Cisco JC, she averaged just over six points and seven rebounds per game and was ranked seventh in the conference averaging 2.3 blocks per outing.

Norvil lettered all four years in basketball at Sidney High School where she averaged over 20 ppg and 18 rpg. She was named the district's Offensive MVP her junior and senior seasons while garnishing first-team all-region honors as well.

She was named second-team all-state and participated in two all-star games as a senior as well. As a sophomore, Norvil was named a first-team all-district selection after being named an honorable mention selection as a freshman.

The incoming sophomore was a regional qualifier in track her final three years of high school and was the president of Sidney's National Honor Society organization.

Megan is the daughter of Darla and Tony Norvil and has one older sister, Jodie Stevens. She will major in pre-physical therapy while attending Tarleton.
