STEPHENVILLE ? The 2008 Tarleton Texan football season is just right around the corner, and if you haven't reserved your season tickets, you should do so.

For fans that have not renewed their season tickets for the 2008 football season, you have until Monday, July 21 to renew the tickets before all seats are released to the general public. Call 254-968-0551 to renew your season ticket package today.

This year, the Texans will host six games, including the season opener on Thursday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. against Southeastern Oklahoma. Tarleton will also have a nationally televised game on CBS TV Sports Network on Thursday, Oct. 30 against Angelo State at 7 p.m. The Texans are ranked No. 25 in The Sporting News preseason poll.

Season tickets are $60 for reserved seating while a general admission Family Pass for four people is $125. Each additional person is $25 apiece.

“We are really looking forward to a tremendous football season,” said Tarleton athletics director Lonn Reisman. “Our football team is ranked in the Top 25 in the national preseason polls and after finishing 9-2 last season, we really feel with its explosive offense and its high-power defense, we will have another shot at the Lone Star Conference title and the playoffs. Head Coach Sam McElroy and his staff have had an outstanding recruiting year, and we expect big things out of this team in 2008.

“We hope everyone will consider coming out and supporting the team,” Reisman said. “We want everyone to come and help us create a Division I atmosphere here at Tarleton while watching high-quality football.”
