Ross named NFL Europa Co-Offensive MVP

NEW YORK - Former Tarleton Texan running back Derrick Ross has been named the NFL Europa League Offensive Co-Most Valuable Player with quarterback J.T. O'Sullivan.

Ross, who is a member of the Kansas City Chiefs, led the league with 802 yards and four 100-yard games this season for the Cologne Centuriions. He totaled a league-best 933 yards for scrimmage that included 131 receiving yards. Ross scored five touchdowns as the Centurions posted a 6-4 record. His longest touchdown run was for 40 yards.

O'Sullivan, a member of the Chicago Bears, helped lead his Frankfurt Galaxy squad to a ?3 record and a bearth in the Yello Strom World Bowl XV. The Bears' quarterback led the NFLEL in passer rating (104.8) and passing yards (2,201) while tying for the league lead with 16 touchdown passes. The former Cal-Davis standout recorded the only two 300-yard games in NFL Europa this season, including a league-best 374-yard performance in Week 9 against the Sea Devils.

Centurions defensive end Jason Hall (Carolina Panthers) was named the Defensive MVP, the NFL Europa League announced today. Hamburg Sea Devils head coach Vince Martino was named Coach of the Year.

Ross was a roster member of last year's Chiefs squad. The former Texan played seven games on special teams and one contest on offense. He had three carries for eight yards. He also had nine special teams tackles and a forced fumble on special teams.
