Round One Results
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The No. 5 Tarleton TexAnn golf team is in third place after the first day of competition at the Cheddar's UCO Classic.
The TexAnns, who shot a 302 on Monday, are five strokes behind leader St. Edward's who shot a 297. Central Oklahoma is in second with a 300.
Tarleton is led by
Carla Cooper with a 72. She is in fourth place, one stroke behind SEU's Emily Kvinta and Kirby Baker and Angelo State's Raelyn Smith – all of whom are tied with a 71.
Melanie Tham is tied for 12th with a 75 and
Jacqueline Lau is tied for 18th with a 77.
Katy Ward shot a 78 to tie for 23rd and
Andrea Lowe shot an 81 to tie for 53rd.
Candace Brister is competing as an individual medalist, and she is tied for 35th with a 79.
Cameron is four strokes behind Tarleton for fourth place with a 36 while Dallas Baptist (308), Midwestern State (308), Angelo State (309), Northeastern State (315), Henderson State (315) and Harding (315) round out the Top 10. Stephen F. Austin (320), Arkansas Tech (322), Newman (322), Texas A&M-Commerce (323), St. Mary's (327), East Central (327), Incarnate Word (337) and Southwestern Oklahoma (342) round out the field.
The teams battled a dreary day with on-and-off sprinkles on Monday at the Lincoln Park Golf Course in Oklahoma City. The final round will start at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday on the East Course.
