Schindler announces signing of Murrah to NLI

STEPHENVILLE - Tarleton head volleyball coach Mary Schindler announced Tuesday that Stacie Murrah has signed a National Letter of Inten to join the TexAnns for the 2010 season.

"We are really excited to get Stacie in here to our program," Schindler said.  "She comes from a winning tradition and that will be a very good asset to have in the conference we play in.  She is a true rightside with excellent skills all over the court.  We are looking forward to getting her on campus next year."

Murrah will be an incoming freshman at Tarleton next season following a high school career where she went 80-8 the past two years at O'Connor High School in San Antonio.  She helped lead her team to three consecutive, undefeated district championships and a trip to the regional finals this past season.

On the court, Murrah has been selected to both the all-district and academic all-district teams during her career.  Off the court, the 5-8 rightside hitter is a member of the National Honor Society as well as the Spanish Honor Society.

Murrah played club volleyball on the Alamo teams as well as Texas Juniors.  She will play on the 18-Texas Juniors squad later this year.
