FINDLAY, Ohio According to Golfstat.com’s records, the No. 7 Tarleton TexAnns have been the most successful women’s golf program in the past three seasons in any of the three NCAA levels, winning 18 tournaments dating back to the 2006-07 season. This week, the TexAnns look to take the next step and do something no Tarleton team has done and bring home the national trophy.
The TexAnns, who captured their third straight Super Region Four title last week, will face off against the top 11 other teams in the country at the Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio on Wednesday-Saturday, May 13-16.
“We really want to go and win this tournament and bring home the national title to Tarleton,” said head coach Jerry Doyle. “We have had a good showing in each of the last two years, but we are not satisfied with fifth place. We want to win the whole thing.”

The TexAnns have finished fifth the last two trips to the national tournament while defending national champion Rollins captured their 12th national title in 2008.
“There is no pressure now,” Doyle said. “I believe if our girls go out there and just have fun playing golf, then we can be competitive and put ourselves in a good position.”
The TexAnns have claimed a victory in 18 of their last 27 tournaments, dating back to the 2006-07 season. Tarleton has finished in the top five in all 27 events and in the top three in 23 of those tournaments. In head-to-head competition against teams in their division, the TexAnns are 248-25 in the last three seasons, including a 181-11 mark in 2007-08 and 2008-09, a .942 winning percentage.
Tarleton will be joined at the tournament by other regional champions Grand Valley State, who won Super Region One, Nova Southeastern, who won Super Region Two, and Upper Iowa, who won Super Region Three. Also competing in the tournament will be the second and third place finishers from each regional: Ferris State, Indianapolis, Florida Southern, Rollins, Concordia-St. Paul, Augustana (S.D), West Texas A&M and Cal State-Chico.
Tarleton is set to tee off from the tee at No. 10 on Wednesday morning beginning at 9:45 a.m. in 10-minute increments. On Thursday, the TexAnns will tee off from the first hole at 8:30 a.m. in 10-minute increments once again. Friday’s and Saturday’s tee times will be set according to the order of the standings at that time.
