Cooper named LSC Golfer of the Week

RICHARDSON - Tarleton's Carla Cooper has been named the Lone Star Conference Women's Golfer of the Week.
Cooper won the Ashland Desert Invitational which had six Top 20 teams in the nation competing in the seven-team event. Cooper shot a 77 on day one and then a two-under par 70 on day two to win the event. The TexAnn is No. 6 in the nation in par four scoring with a 4.26 average and No. 14 in sub-par strokes per round. In Tarleton’s events so far this spring, Cooper has led the team as the TexAnns have won two events along with a third-place team finish. The junior from Arlington has finished second once and also tied for fourth. Cooper is averaging 75.4 strokes for the first round and 75.8 strokes for the second round to average a total of 151.2 strokes per tournament, the best on the squad.
This is the first golf release of the season from the LSC, and weekly awards will be given throughout the rest of the season on Wednesdays.
