SAN ANTONIO – The Tarleton women's 4x400m relay team recorded an NCAA Division II provisional time in the 1600m relay at Incarnate Word's Last Chance Meet at Benson Stadium in San Antonio on Thursday.

The TexAnn team comprised of Kandis Brooks, Courtney Newsom, Danitra Marshall and Claire Goodman finished the event with a time of 3:49.74 to earn the provisional mark.

Brooks finished first overall in the women's 100m hurdles as well, finishing in a time of 13.87. Her time would have been an automatic qualifying mark, but the time was wind-aided and cannot be used to qualify for the national meet. Instead, Brooks will look to get a nod in the national meet with the 13.86 time she recorded at the Lone Star Conference Championship meet in San Angelo last weekend. Brooks currently ranks 10th in the nation with the 13.86 time.

Leslie Jordan recorded a provisional mark in the women's shot put with a toss of 13.29m to finish second in the event. Jordan had already qualified for the national meet with her toss of 13.31m at the McMurry Relays in April.

Jamal Mays tied his provisional time in the men's 100m dash with a time of 10.57. Mays recorded the same time at the LSC Championships as well.

The Texans and TexAnns will now await invitations to the national meet that is set for May 27-29, in Charlotte, N.C.
