Casazza, Ulbricht named all-tournament selections

ABILENE – Tarleton's Chris Casazza and Charlie Ulbricht were each named to the 2010 Lone Star Conference Baseball Championship All-Tournament team following the conclusion of the tournament at Crutcher Scott Field in Abilene on Tuesday.

Casazza had a team-high .500 batting average in three games played at the championship, tallying four hits in eight official plate appearances. He blasted a pair of home runs and knocked in four base runners, while scoring three times as well. The Texan right fielder was walked twice and beaned three times to end the tournament with a .692 on-base percentage.

This is the second straight year that Casazza has earned all-tournament honors, getting the same nod last season.

Ulbricht hit .417 over the course of the three games for the Texans, collecting five hits in 13 trips to the plate. He walked once, had two doubles and scored three runs. In the field, the Texan third baseman tallied three putouts and 12 assists.

The Texans went 1-2 in the conference tournament, collecting a win over Southeastern Oklahoma and falling to Angelo State and LSC Champion Abilene Christian.

Overall, fifteen different players from the six school represented earned all-tournament accolades. ACU outfielder, Aaron Oliver, was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
