TUSCON, Ariz. - The Collegiate Baseball Newspaper released their NCAA Division II national rankings Monday and put Tarleton back in the top 30 at No. 27.
The Texans return to the rankings after dropping out of the top 30 last week. Tarleton got as high as No. 15 this year before a loss to the current No. 11 St. Mary's spoiled the Texans' run.
With a 20-7 overall record and a 15-6 Lone Star Conference mark, Tarleton is finding its grove again and is coming off a three-game sweep of Angelo State. They will look to defend their No. 27 ranking against Howard Payne Tuesday in Stephenville.
The Texans not only celebrate another national ranking, but they also were honored with two LSC players of the week in
Zane Hensley and
Ryan Salt.
Mount Olive remains at No. 1 overall, followed by South Central regional foe Emporia State at No. 2 and West Flordia at No. 3. Central Missouri and Cal. St. Chico round out the top five.
Incarnate Word is the only other LSC team in the top 30, coming in at a tie for No. 30.
