SHERMAN - The Tarleton tennis team was defeated by Northeastern State Friday by a 6-3 decision.
Adrianna Jaskova was victorious in both her matches, with a 8-5 win with
Melanie Barnes in doubles action and a 6-3, 6-2 win in singles competition.
Mariana Freitas gave the TexAnns their only other win with a 6-0, 7-5 victory in No. 3 singles.
Tarleton came close in their other matches, but ultimately fell just short of the RiverHawks.
Head coach
Lance Drake discussed his team's effort at the end of the day.
"It was a tough week for us," said Drake. "We just couldn't take advantage of the opportunities presented to us. A few errors, good play by Northeastern and the inability to string some points together at crucial times earned them the victory. They were tough matches, but we have to learn from them and get better."
