WACO – The Tarleton men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Baylor/Michael Johnson Dr. Pepper Classic Saturday in Waco for their final meet before the LSC Championships.
The Texans and TexAnns had a strong showing against a loaded field of Division I, Division II and NAIA squads. The competition acted as a warm-up for Tarleton's next event, the Lone Star Conference Championships in Stephenville.
Here were the notable performances from the Michael Johnson Dr. Pepper Classic:
Lindsey Hinton set a personal record in the women's 5000-meter run with a time of 18:13.84, which was good enough for fifth place.
Shabrina McAdams set a personal best in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing the even in 1:05.27. That earned her a seventh-place finish at Baylor.
Tyler Rushing got a season best in the high jump with a 1.95-meter performance (6'4.75”).
Claire Goodman set a season best in the 400-meter with a time of 1:01.56.
John Morin came in third place in the 400-meter run with a time of 48.42.
Jordan Larkin set a personal record in the 400-meter run, putting up a time of 50.76 in the event.
Cyler Matlock finished in fifth place in the men's 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.59.
Westyn Rosiles posted a time of 9:36.93 in the 3000-meter steeplechase, which earned him second place overall.
Tarleton's next competition is the LSC Championships, hosted by the Texans and TexAnns in Stephenville on May 6-8.
