TexAnns in third after round-one of Viking Invitational

TexAnns are just three shots off the lead after the first day of play at the Viking Invitational.

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Tarleton TexAnn golf team carded a first-round team score +18 (310) and currently sit in a tie for third-place following Monday's action at the Viking Invitational hosted by Western Washington, which is being held at Bellingham Golf and Country Club in Bellingham, Wash.
 
The TexAnns are just three strokes behind British Columbia, who shot a first-round score of +15 (307) in round one. Hawaii-Hilo is ahead of the TexAnns in second-place with a first-day total of +17 (309), while Grand Canyon sits in a tie with Tarleton at +18.
 
Coming off her individual title this past Saturday in Olympia, Wash.,Tarleton's Isabell Jimenez-Perea shot a first-round score 75 (+2) and is currently in a tie for third-place with four other players, including teammate Sharon Lau who also shot a three-over par 75 on Monday.
 
Jessica Pickwick sits in a tie for eighth-place with her first-round score of 77 (+4) and Jacqueline Lau's score of 83 (+10) ranks tied for 32nd-place overall. Tarleotn's Sarah Fulfer rounds out the first round scores for the TexAnns as she carded an 85 (+12) during Monday's round.
 
Grand Canyon's Kelcey Tate currently leads the pack after round one, with a score of 72 (-1) on Monday. Kacie Harada of Hawaii-Hilo is second overall with a first-round score of even par (73).
 
The TexAnns will conclude second-round action of the Viking Invitational tomorrow morning at Bellingham Golf and Country Club.
