STEPHENVILLE - Tarleton softball added one more piece to the puzzle Friday by announcing the addition of Rachel Brownlow, a sophomore transfer from San Jacinto College.
"We are very glad Rachel is joining us," said Tarleton head coach Julie Mata. "She comes from a talented team and she'll help bring experience to our young outfield, as well as offensive aggressiveness our lineup.
"She is most definitely the kind of student-athlete that fits in with both our softball program and Tarleton State University," she continued. "Her academic performance in the classroom is impressive in addition to the kind of team mentality and love of university traditions we look for in our players."
Brownlow, a outfielder from Hargrave High School in Huffman, comes to Tarleton after starting for a San Jac team that was 45-13 last season and qualified for the regional playoffs. She hit .277 and was 8-for-8 in stolen base attempts.
Tarleton will begin the softball season in February. For a complete schedule, check out TarletonSports.com.
