ALLEN - The Lone Star Conference held its annual awards banquet for women's basketball Tuesday evening in Allen and three TexAnns took home at least one honor.
Shelby Adamson, a senior guard from Rockwall, was named the LSC Academic Player of the Year for the second year in a row. She also earned first team honors and first team All-Academic honors after leading Tarleton to its first LSC Championship in school history.
Peyton Adamson, the sophomore sister of Shelby, earned second team honors and was named Co-Newcomer of the Year.
Kiara Wright, a sophomore center from Pittsburg, also picked up second team honors for her achievements this season.

The TexAnns will face Eastern New Mexico in the first round of the LSC tournament on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. in the Allen Event Center.
Head coach Ronnie Hearne talked about the awards the three players received.
"I thought we were well respresented in the conference," said Hearne. "Shelby has been named Academic Player of the Year and First Team All-LSC two years in a row, and that is a tremendous honor for her. Peyton and Kiara made second team as sophomores and with such a deep conference, only five players make first or second team. That says something about how others in the conference look at those two young women. I am proud of all of them."
