STEPHENVILLE - The Tarleton TexAnns continue to build to the Lone Star Conference Champion roster - this time adding a forward from Lorena, Erin Sims.
"Erin is the ideal 4-player for our offense," said Tarleton assistant coach Misty Wilson. "She is a player that can shoot outside so she can stretch out the post defense and she is also quick enough to take defenders off the dribble.
"Erin is a player that will fit well in our transition offense because she is fast and finishes well," she continued. "We believe that Erin will add another dimension to our post game and make it even more difficult to guard."
As a senior at Lorena High School, Sims was a team captain for the 3A state semi-finalists. She was also named 3A Region-3 Tournament MVP on her way to the state tournament.
Sims was the MVP of District 19-3A, TABC all-region as well as an all-state and all-star selection by the TABC and TGCA. She was also the 2012 Super Centex Player of the Year.
The Lorena native also had success in the classroom, by earning academic all-district and all-state honors.
Sims joins Meagan O'Dell and Morgan Ashmore in the 2012-13 Tarleton State recruiting class.
