- Round 1 Results

LOUISVILLE, KY. - The Tarleton women's golf team finished the first round of the 2012 NCAA Division II Championships at Persimmons Ridge Golf Course in Louisville, Ky. Wednesday. 

The TexAnns currently sit in ninth place out of 12 teams competing after a tumultuous first day at one of the toughest courses in the nation.  With a score of 338, Tarleton trails leaders Nova Southeastern by 30 strokes. 

Jacqueline Lau led the way for the TexAnns with a score of 80, good enough for a tie for 16th place.  Sharon Lau shot an 85 (T-37th), while Jessica Pickwick shot a 86 (T-43rd).  Sarah Fulfer was close behind with an 87 (T-47th) with Katy Ward shooting an 88 (T-54th).

Florida Southern, Central Oklahoma, Barry and Grand Canyon round out the top five.

Tarleton will continue play Thursday morning in Louisville as the second round gets underway.  The competition is a four-round event wrapping up Saturday.
