STEPHENVILLE - The Tarleton baseball team will take on Texas A&M-Kingsville in the first round of the 2012 Lone Star Conference tournament Saturday, May 5 in San Angelo.

First pitch is slated for 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Foster Field on the campus of Angelo State.

Tarleton enters the tournament at the No. 5 seed and will face the No. 2-seeded Javelinas.  Kingsville holds the season series advantage however, winning all four games in Stephenville.

This season, the Texans are 26-19 overall and 16-12 in LSC play.  They are the hottest team in the league though, winning seven straight games.  Tarleton is coming off a series sweep of Cameron in which they outscored the Aggies 55-15.

Kingsville on the other hand is 31-14 and 18-10 in LSC action.  The Javelinas have controlled their opponents with strong pitching this season, but are coming off a series split with Incarnate Word.

Tarleton and Kingsville will have the second game of the day at 3:30 p.m. Saturday as part of the double-elimination tournament.  If victorious, the Texans will play at 7 p.m. Sunday.  If Tarleton loses, it will play at noon on Sunday.
