STEPHENVILLE - The 2011-12 CoSIDA Academic All-District teams were announced and Tarleton women's golfer
Sharon Lau was recognized for her efforts on and off the course.
Lau, a native of Malaysia, led the TexAnns to a top five national ranking and a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Division II Championships in Louisville, Ky. this past weekend. The sophomore also won Tarleton's home event, the Doc Housewright Invitational en route to being named Lone Star Conference Academic Player of the Year.
Majoring in engineering, Lau achieved a GPA above 3.5, which is the requirement for the academic honors of CoSIDA.
The 2012 Capital One Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, have been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Capital One became the entitlement rights holder to CoSIDA's Academic All-America teams programs in 2011.
