STEPHENVILLE - Tarleton softball coach Julie Mata is hosting walk-on tryouts for interested student-athletes looking to join one of the top softball programs in the Lone Star Conference.

"Our roster is almost entirely full, but we are always keeping our eyes open for talented student-athletes who are interested in attending Tarleton State University," said Mata. "In particular, we are looking for speed and outfield potential at this tryout, but we're excited to evaluate all softball players who have an interest in us."

The tryouts will be held Saturday June 9 at the Tarleton Softball Complex at 10 a.m.

All interested participants must pre-arrange tryout information by emailing Mata at mata@tarleton.edu to secure a spot and all participants must bring a copy of current physical examinations from the last six months.

Transfer students from another four-year institution must provide permission to contact from their previous school prior to contacting Mata.

Tarleton is coming off a 31-20 season where they finished third in the Lone Star Conference and qualified for the LSC Championship Tournament for the 11th time in the school's 17-year softball history.
