STEPHENVILLE – For the second straight season, Tarleton men's basketball ranks in the top 10 in the nation in NCAA Division II attendance.

The Texans ranked eighth in the nation with an average 2,004 fans per contest in 2015-16. Tarleton, who advanced to the Elite Eight for a Lone Star Conference record fourth time, played 18 home games this season and had a total attendance of 36,080. Tarleton ranked sixth last season with an average of 2,097.

The Lone Star Conference had the second-highest average attendance of 1,267 in NCAA Division II, trailing only the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association's 1,419. Northern State had the highest attendance for Division II schools with 3,346 per game.

Tarleton's home-court advantage has played a big part in the success the Texans have had in Wisdom Gym and overall. Over the last seven seasons, Tarleton is 115-9 at home for a winning percentage of .927. The Texans haven't lost more than two games at Wisdom Gym in eight years.

Tarleton's attendance average ranks higher than 148 Division I programs and is also better than the average of eight Division I conferences.
