After retiring in 2013 as the Director of Financial Aid, Betty Murray returned to Tarleton State in a part-time role as the athletics financial aid coordinator. Since her retirement, she has assisted in a part-time role for the last 12 years within the athletics department in compliance, databases, development and fundraising.
Murray has over 35 years of experience in the area of financial aid and athletic scholarships and has been employed at Tarleton State University for over 40 years. In her current position as Financial Aid Coordinator, she works with athletic scholarships and financial aid.
She graduated from Tarleton State with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and also earned her MBA from Tarleton State. She is currently working on her PhD in Higher Ed at Texas A&M-Commerce.
Murray currently resides in Stephenville. She has one son, George.
